CUD Student Named Among Leading UAE Young Entrepreneurs

October 18th, 2016: Student entrepreneur, Abzal Assembekov, has been adding to his already impressive portfolio of achievements with two recent accolades from the UAE business community.

A Bachelors of Communications major at Canadian University Dubai (CUD), Abzal has been nominated in two categories of the forthcoming Arabian Business StartUp Awards 2016, while his company, Propertyin360.co, has been selected by Forbes Magazine among the top 50 UAE startups to watch.

Established in 2013, the Arabian Business StartUp Awards celebrate the region’s most outstanding entrepreneurs and provide a platform for them to be recognized among a diverse community of business influencers. This year Abzal has been shortlisted among five other competitors for the Young Entrepreneur of the Year title, and will also compete with four other enterprises for the New Media Startup of the Year award.

At just 21 years old, Abzal has already established himself on the UAE enterprise scene, with a number of successful technology-based start-ups to his name. In 2014 he was a winner in the Dubai Startup Weekend competition, going on to mentor fellow entrepreneurs in the 2015 edition of the event.

As Founder and Managing Director of Heptagon Multimedia, Abzal was inspired to build upon his existing enterprise portfolio when he recognized an opportunity in the real estate business. His new venture, Propertyin360.co, is a mobile application for real estate agencies and property owners that can create virtual tours using a smartphone camera.

Abzal explained, “This is a very unique app that services a fast growing sector in the UAE. The technology we use is the first of its kind to be launched anywhere in the world and the aim is that it will go a long way to making life easier for real estate agencies, as well as being something that is very user-friendly.”

Earlier this year, Propertyin360.co was ranked among the top three finalists in the growth stage of the Step Conference 2016, and also took third place in the Impact Hub CrowdFunDxb Pitch Competition. The enterprise has gone on to generate widespread interest, reflected in its listing as ‘one to watch’ by leading business publication, Forbes Magazine.

Speaking about his most recent successes, Abzal said, “The support we have received from the business community and the recognition we have witnessed across different publications have given us the motivation to go on and achieve more ambitious goals.

"Selecting our startup from among so many other businesses is real encouragement that we are on the right track and that we are recognized for innovation and professionalism. For my part, I couldn’t have come this far without the support and high quality education of Canadian University Dubai.”
